Three generations of the Whitaker family have worked roofs in Western North Carolina. We founded Northpeak in 2015 to do the work the way we wish someone had done it for us — honest, thorough, and genuinely local.

Our story
How Northpeak started.
Tom Whitaker has been on Asheville roofs since he was seventeen. He spent two decades working for other crews before he'd had enough of watching homeowners get pushed into replacements they didn't need, signed up for warranties that weren't real, and handed final invoices that looked nothing like the estimates they'd agreed to.
In 2015, he quit his job and started Northpeak out of his garage on Sweeten Creek Road. His son Jesse joined the following year, and his daughter Sarah came on as operations lead in 2017.
"We didn't start Northpeak to scale it up. We started it to do the job the right way — and then do it again for the next house."
Today Northpeak runs four crews across Buncombe and Henderson counties. Every job still goes through Tom's inspection, every estimate still comes in writing, and every warranty is still honored in person.
We're not going anywhere. We live here too.
